The Chemical Agent / OC / Pepper Spray course provides security professionals with the practical skills and legal knowledge required to safely and effectively deploy chemical agents when necessary. Combining classroom instruction with intensive hands-on exercises, this course prepares students to respond confidently in high-pressure situations.
This course is built for security officers and executive protection agents who need to go beyond basic licensing and develop real-world skills with less-lethal tools. Whether you are managing a combative subject or deploying OC spray, this course ensures you understand both the technique and the legal framework surrounding its use.
The course covers everything from the chemistry and effects of pepper spray to the tactical and legal considerations surrounding its deployment. Students become familiar with the different types of spray delivery systems and practice defensive tactics and medical treatment procedures for those exposed.
The course concludes with a practical examination, ensuring every student can demonstrate competent, safe, and lawful use of chemical agents.
Students Will Learn:
- OC spray types, deployment, and legal considerations
- Chemistry and physiological effects of pepper spray
- Spray delivery systems and safe handling
- Defensive tactics and medical treatment following OC exposure
Certification:
Upon completion, students earn a PWA Chemical Agents Certification Card and an ASC Certificate of Completion.
