Hand to Hand Combat Training

Hi, I’m Benji Rosenfeld, combatives instructor at Pacific West Academy. We’re testing the students on a variety of physical skills and tactics that they’ve been learning throughout the course. 30 minutes to 45 minutes of tough vertical grappling, also known as pummeling, and then there will be 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes of consecutive sparring. There’s 16 students, should be about 16 rounds. Every student will compete against at least two separate combatives instructors. We’ll also be incorporating some of our ground grappling skills dealing with a knife on the ground from the bottom and from top position, and then we’ll be finishing off with our basic pistol and gun takeaways that we’ll be doing from a variety of positions.
